Content and structure of the minor

IDBM is a multidisciplinary programme organised in collaboration by the School of Business, School of Arts, Design and Architecture and School of Science. The minor programme builds on prior studies in the areas of business, design and technology by enabling and encouraging students to further develop and integrate their knowledge in multidisciplinary teams. The aim of the minor programme is to provide participants with the competence and capability to successfully undertake creative teamwork, concept development, business modelling and project management through industry collaboration and a tailor made course in international design business management.

Application procedure
The minor is offered only for master level students that are selected for the IDBM Minor Programme. Students are selected separately from ARTS (max. 10 students), from BIZ and from technology/science field. Prerequisites for being accepted to the programme are a Bachelor’s degree (or ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge of one’s own field), an interest in multidisciplinary teamwork and the possibility to actively participate in an intense programme.

Students of BIZ and the Schools of technology can apply by sending an application including a free-form letter of motivation, CV and academic record (transcript) by email or by mail to the programme coordinator Anna-Mari Saari (Tämä sähköpostiosoite on suojattu spamboteilta. Tarvitset JavaScript-tuen nähdäksesi sen.). All application documents are to be in English. The deadline for applying is yearly May 15th.

Students of ARTS apply via Aalto internal mobility eAge system https://eage.aalto.fi/, and attach the application documents, i.e. a free-form letter of motivation, CV and academic record (transcript), to the eAge application form. All documents are to be in English. Newly accepted ARTS students who do not have the Aalto password can apply by sending the required application documents directly to the study coordinator Naoko Nakagawa by email (Tämä sähköpostiosoite on suojattu spamboteilta.
